Capacitance
Capacitance is an electrical circuit parameter that stores energy in the form of electric field. It is the capacity of an electrical element to hold charge.
For a given element the charge on the element is directly proportional to
voltage. i.e.,
q ∝ V
⇒ q=CV
Where, C the constant of proportionality is called capacitance.
Therefore, capacitance C=q/V
Units of capacitance:
In SI system capacitance is measured in farad (F).
